What off-plan can offer
A phased payment schedule and a wider choice of units can make an early purchase attractive. In return, the buyer accepts construction and delivery uncertainty. Check the project registration, escrow account, sale agreement, specification, payment milestones and the developer’s completed work before reserving.
What a ready property can offer
A completed home can be inspected, valued and used or rented sooner. The buyer can assess the exact view, light, noise, condition and building operation. The trade-off may be a larger immediate cash requirement, existing wear or fewer choices within a popular building.
Compare the same decision points
Put both options through the same test: total cost, payment timing, finance, service charges, expected use, rental readiness and likely resale audience. If your plan fails when completion moves or rent is lower than hoped, reduce the dependency before proceeding.
Practical checklist
- When do you need the property?
- How certain must the final product be?
- Can the payment plan be met without a resale?
- What official project checks are complete?
- What are the first-year ownership costs?
